7. Lap Desk

Wood, mother-of-pearl inlay, and red velvet lining. This lap desk was given to Charlotte Chandler Tenney by her students at Bradford Academy in 1835 in appreciation of her service. Miss Tenney taught Latin at Bradford Academy from 1833-1838 when she married Daniel B. Kimball. When she died in 1907, she was the oldest living student of Bradford Academy. This lap desk is one of several from the Haverhill Historical Society’s Bradford College collection.
